Our Florida pet groomer school programs empower students to build fulfilling careers that combine creativity with a passion for animals. Through a curriculum comprised of both written and hands-on experience, students work with a large cross-section of canine breeds, enabling them to build the skills necessary for rewarding pet grooming careers. Pro Groomer Program
300 Hours
Students learn all the essentials to become a dog
groomer and quickly begin a paid career at a grooming facility.
Pet Stylist Program
600 Hours
Students learn everything from the 300 hour program, plus the skills needed to work in salons, vet offices, and mobile grooming businesses.
Continuing Education
6 Hour Classes
Graduates or working groomers can take Master classes to perfect and advance grooming skills in innovative classes.

Pet Grooming School FAQ
There are two ways you can become a dog groomer in Florida:
- Complete an official dog grooming program with a comprehensive curriculum to show your dedication and knowledge. This is the recommended option!
- Get on the job training from an experienced dog groomer, but those without a certification will have a harder time finding a job.
Our Pro Grooming course takes 4 months to complete attending full-time. Our Stylist Program takes 8 months to complete attending full-time.
Dog grooming courses for tuition range from $7,658.93 for the Pro Groomer Program to $11,618.93 for the Pet Stylist Program; the program cost includes a grooming tool kit, registration fee, and applicable state taxes. The $100 registration fee is due at time of signing the enrollment agreement. Interest-Free Financing and Payment Plans available to those who qualify!
All students must be at least 18 years of age, and show proof of high school graduation or GED. Prior to enrollment the school requires an interview at the school campus with the director, tour of the facilities, and observing a class in operation. An “Admissions Questionnaire” must be completed. Upon acceptance into the program, the student may enroll.
Dog groomer pay ranges depending on the setting and area where you practice. According to Glassdoor, Florida groomers make between $39,000 and $61,000 annually.
Dog grooming requires certain physical demands. Ask yourself:
- Can you stand for long periods at a time?
- Can you lift pets on and off the grooming table?
- Can you firmly grasp tools with both hands?
- Are you comfortable being exposed to dirt, animal hair, dander, and skin conditions?
- If you are pregnant, have you cleared grooming school with your doctor?
- If you answered “yes” to the above questions, dog grooming may be the perfect career path for you!
