Marla is amazing. We go where she goes and have done so for 10 years with 3 dogs.The facility is clean and well maintained and staff is friendly.Dogs appear to be well handled.Prices are reasonable.My dog is happy to walk in the door which is a major plus.I am insanely picky over how my dog is handled but I trust Marla.Keep in mind these are students but they typically do a great job.

I just recently completed the 600 hour program and feel so confident going into this career. Kayla and Marla the instructors are very knowledgeable and put their all into making excellent groomers! I’ve watched myself and so many of my classmates excel/ grow in the past year with kayla and marla by our sides every step of the way. You can tell that they really care about not only the industry and producing great grooms but also making sure the pups are very well taken care of. They were better than some of the previous groomers we've tried. We will be going back . Try them. My experience here is a little different as the chief instructor at this teaching Academy, Marla, has been grooming my puppy for over 12 years. I guess that is a pretty good recommendation because we have followed her through all of her Wolf Gang journeys during that time. She always loved teaching and wanted to do it full-time and now she is doing just that. This is a wonderful place to take your dog for a trim, a full groom, etc. It is large and spacious, and the staff is so friendly and wonderful. With Marla over seeing everything, you can’t go wrong.

Update: our boy has been going her for over a year every 5 weeks. The salon continues you give him a great experience. They do well putting him at ease and giving him good care. I like that they take $5 off my next appointment when we book well in advance.1st time at the Academy, but not the first time our boy, a standard poodle, was groomed by a student. He gets a close cut with a number 5 guard and is prone to sensitive skin and hot spots. After 5 years of grooming, this was his best result and he did not itch or chew on himself afterwards. I will be going back.

In May of 2022 I decided to completely change my career. After 18 years as a truck driver I chose to sell my truck and go to school to become a groomer! There wasn't an overabundance of options for grooming schools in the area and location was the major deciding factor in my choice to attend Woofgang Academy. I came to the school, met Woody (the owner), toured the school and got the registration packet. Initially I decided to take the 300 hour course but as I neared the end of my course time I decided to extend to the 600 hours. Our instructors Marla and Veronica bring many years of diverse experience to the classroom and they are both very creative and offer a veritable plethora of options to give us students the best education possible before we're off on our own in the real world. We're never on our own. They'll always be there for us helping whenever we need!

BOOK IT! We have two goldendoodles who are NOT a fan of the groomer. We have tried so many places and they both come home just not themselves. We took them both here for the first time a few months ago, and it was PHENOMENAL! Booking the appointment was super easy. The girls met us at the door when we arrived for our appointment, asked us TONS of questions about what we wanted/needed. They were so attentive to us AND the doggos. I have never seen our girls happier than the moment we picked them up -- you could tell that they had been VERY well taken care of, and I know the groomers took their time and let the dogs be dogs. BEST GROOMERS EVER! We’ve brought our mini golden doodle here twice now and both times we’ve been blown away. After both appointments, multiple people have commented on his cut stating he has “the best doodle cut” they’ve seen, and it’s definitely the best grooming he’s ever had. In addition to their grooming, their service and care for our pup is also exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you know that you’re going to be leaving your pet in the best care. All of the staff and students have been so warm and personable. They take time to ask questions upon your arrival to ensure all of your pets needs will be met. This was the second time i have used Woof Gang Academy. It is conveniently located on Rt 50 across from West Oaks Mall. They are very reasonably priced and it is fairly easy to get an appointment. The first time we had an incident with a split nail-my dog chews his nails so it could have been something he did prior but they took full responsibility, did not charge me and offered to pay the vet bill if there was one. Fortunately he didn't need it and healed quickly. This time he voiced his opinion about having his nails done so they were able to cut but not file them. He is a fairly large dog with lots of hair but they finished in less than 2 hours and he looks so handsome. I will use them again and often.

They did such a wonderful for my 2 Shih Tzu's, they came out wonderfully. I was so shocked and impressed at how well my babies turned out. We were away for a few months and my mom just could not keep up with their coats so they were in real need of some tlc. I highly recommend you give this place a chance, less expensive but great work! What an amazing place! Brought in two large Newfoundlands for grooming and the staff was outstanding, caring, attentive to what the dogs needed and did a superb job. Customer service here is definitely 5 stars. The dogs looked so happy and relaxed when I picked them up. You could tell they were very well taken care of. Give my highest recommendation to anyone in need of grooming for their fur baby.

I brought my 12 year old Yorkie to Woof Gang Academy of Grooming based on a recommendation from a friend. My Yorkie had 2 massive seizures during his last grooming appointment and I was so reluctant to put him through the stress of another session. My friend assured me that Manessa had the experience of working with senior dogs and that she would make the grooming session as stress-free as possible.When we arrived, right away I noticed how clean and calm the facility was. There were several dogs there and you could hear the hum of the dryer but it wasn’t anything that frightened my dog. Manessa was so patient as she listened to me and cuddled with my dog to make him feel comfortable. She allowed me to stay close by to watch her work and give my dog some reassurance. We made it through his grooming session, complete with shampoo and blow dry, without a seizure and he looks better than ever! Thank you to the staff at Woof Gang Academy of Grooming for making this a positive experience and showing such compassion to my beloved pet.

We had a wonderful experience having our small Yorkie groomed here. Staff was friendly and cared for the dog. His cut was perfect and he also had his nails trimmed. I recommend this groomer and will go to them again!

We have two female Spinoni Italiano. They must be hand stripped to maintain the proper harsh coat. Over the years I have tried so many groomers. Some try to hand strip and do okay, but it’s rare to find someone who can hand strip my girls correctly. Manessa and her team did a PERFECT job on her first try. She is by far the best groomer I have ever used. I would 1000% recommend and encourage anyone looking for a true grooming expert to visit Manessa at Woof gang academy of grooming.

I brought our shih tzu Waffles here today for grooming along with our two foster dogs- a Senior Poodle who is getting ready for surgery next week and a paralyzed Cocker pup. How do you become a dog groomer?

There are two ways you can become a dog groomer in Florida:

Complete an official dog grooming program with a comprehensive curriculum to show your dedication and knowledge. This is the recommended option!
Get on the job training from an experienced dog groomer, but those without a certification will have a harder time finding a job.

How long does it take to become a dog groomer?

Our Pro Grooming course takes 4 months to complete attending full-time. Our Stylist Program takes 8 months to complete attending full-time.

How much does it cost to go to pet grooming school?

Dog grooming courses for tuition range from $7,658.93 for the Pro Groomer Program to $11,618.93 for the Pet Stylist Program; the program cost includes a grooming tool kit, registration fee, and applicable state taxes. The $100 registration fee is due at time of signing the enrollment agreement. Interest-Free Financing and Payment Plans available to those who qualify!

What are the admission requirements for attending pet grooming school?

All students must be at least 18 years of age, and show proof of high school graduation or GED. Prior to enrollment the school requires an interview at the school campus with the director, tour of the facilities, and observing a class in operation. An “Admissions Questionnaire” must be completed. Upon acceptance into the program, the student may enroll.

How much do dog groomers make in Florida?

Dog groomer pay ranges depending on the setting and area where you practice. According to Glassdoor, Florida groomers make between $39,000 and $61,000 annually.

What are the health requirements for being a dog groomer?

Dog grooming requires certain physical demands. Ask yourself:

Can you stand for long periods at a time?
Can you lift pets on and off the grooming table?
Can you firmly grasp tools with both hands?
Are you comfortable being exposed to dirt, animal hair, dander, and skin conditions?
If you are pregnant, have you cleared grooming school with your doctor?
